Capital Bedding Company, Inc. & Pelican Mattress began in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1920 and was incorporated in 1963. Now in our 100th year, we are the oldest and largest mattress manufacturer in Louisiana.
Our capabilities are to manufacture mattresses at over 200 pieces per day with available capacity of 100 pieces per day per single shift. Second & third shift is available for expansion and emergency orders. 20 employees work in our one location factory and warehouse in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Healthcare, Hotel, University, and Crew Quarter mattresses are our specialty.
One half of the employees in positions of mattress builders, seamstress, and foam fabrication specialist have been with Capital Bedding Company averaging 12 years each. We are not associated with any other Capital Bedding Company entities in any states.
The markets that we serve make us specialist in contract mattress production of any type of mattress. We supply a specified customer in government agencies such as military, universities, healthcare, state police training facilities, as well as large, publicly owned off-shore oil rigs. Wholesale of sleep accessories, like linens, pillows, blankets and bunks make up the remainder of our business.
Currently our target markets have been focused on bid projects of 1000 or more mattresses per contract, out of state, with a full scope of work from the manufacturing, quality control, delivery, installation, and hiring of sub-contract labor per situational requirements. We ship, deliver and install anywhere in the U.S. and have expansion capabilities to Hawaii and Alaska.

We have an excellent relationship with multiple suppliers of raw materials and labor shops should a specification or number of pieces require quicker turnaround.
